Richard Brooks has just submitted a great paper on simulation-based inference using stellar halo data for the Milky Way-LMC system. You can find it on the arXiv today. Richard shows how simple rigid simulations can capture the dynamics of more complex MW-LMC simulations (both controlled N-body and cosmological) and produce accurate inferences of the system parameters. This is super promising for application to the real data! Well done, Richard.
