| Jun 12, 2025 | Another excellent paper from Adam Dillamore on the arXiv today. Adam has explored how the (slowing) bar disperses structure in the Milky Way. This seems to make it very difficult to find substructure in the inner Milky Way unless one uses chemistry and the Jacobi energy. This presents a route to constraining the bar’s past history! |
| May 23, 2025 | I am pleased to report that Ziyang Yan’s first PhD paper has been accepted for publication in MNRAS and is now on arXiv here. Ziyang has designed an algorithm for denoising point cloud data using normalizing flows and demonstrated its applicability on Gaia data. Congratulations Ziyang.  |
